FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions families ask us most. Can’t find yours? Ask us on WhatsApp or come to the office.
Getting started
Is the case review really free?
Yes. Sending your reports, the specialist review and the hospital’s written opinion and estimate cost you nothing, and there is no obligation to go ahead. If any CurePath service later has a charge, it is explained and written down before you decide.
What do I need to send?
Your most recent reports: doctor’s letters, scan and test reports, biopsy results if any, and a list of current medicines. Clear phone photos are fine to start with. Each treatment page lists the main documents for that specialty.
How quickly will I get an answer?
We confirm receipt within working hours and tell you if anything is missing. The time for the hospital’s opinion depends on the case and the documents; we tell you what to expect and follow up for you. Urgent cases are prioritised.
Can I come to your office?
Yes. Our help desk is at Rue Ntone Ntone, opposite Hotel Madiba, Akwa Nord, Douala. Bring your reports and a family member if you wish.
Costs & payment
How much will treatment cost?
It depends on the diagnosis, the treatment and how your body responds, so we never give a price before a hospital has reviewed your reports. You receive the hospital’s own written estimate and we explain it, converted into FCFA or your currency, together with travel and living costs.
Who do I pay?
Treatment is paid directly to the hospital in India, against its official receipts, usually by bank transfer or card. Ask your bank in advance about international transfers.
Can the final bill be different from the estimate?
Yes, it can. An estimate is based on the reports available. If doctors find something new, or if recovery takes longer, the cost can change. We help you understand any change with the hospital.
Visa & travel
What visa do I need for treatment in India?
Most patients use the India e-Medical visa, and family members travelling with them the e-Medical Attendant visa. Apply only on the official website indianvisaonline.gov.in and check the rules for your nationality there, as they can change. The hospital provides an invitation letter.
How many family members can come with me?
Generally up to two attendants can travel on e-Medical Attendant visas linked to the patient’s visa. Please check the current rules on the official website.
Will someone meet us at the airport?
Yes. Airport pickup is arranged on arrival in India and we share the contact details before you fly.
In India
I only speak French. Is that a problem?
No. Interpreting in French is arranged for consultations, and our team answers you in French on WhatsApp and by phone throughout your stay.
How long will I stay in India?
It depends on the treatment. Each treatment page gives general guidance, and the hospital gives its own estimate with its opinion. Plan some extra days for tests on arrival and for a check before you fly home.
What happens after I go home?
You leave with a discharge summary and instructions. We help you stay in touch with the treating team for check-ups, test results and online consultations, and can share information with your local doctor if you wish.
Safety & trust
Can you guarantee the result of my treatment?
No, and nobody honest can. Results depend on the illness, the stage and each person. What we guarantee is clear information, the hospital’s own written opinion and support at every step.
Is my medical information kept private?
Yes. We share your reports only with your permission and only with the doctors reviewing your case. See our privacy policy for details.
Can you arrange a kidney or liver donor?
No. Indian law allows living organ donation only under strict rules, usually from a close family member, with approval by an authorisation committee. Buying or selling organs is illegal. We explain the documents needed to prove the family relationship.
How do I know CurePath is a real company?
